The great Christian writer C. S. Lewis spoke once of this concept-- this issue that so many have with believing in God. "How can he hear our prayers and truthfully listen when there are millions and millions praying to him at once?"
Lewis offers his wisdom on the subject by saying that to first even question his ability to answer us and listen, we must first assume that the same experience of "Time" we feel must also apply to God. However, God works like the author of a novel. Say an author writes down a scene in which a character does a particular thing. But, the author then goes for a walk, abandoning his novel. The character in the book is experiencing the flow of time as it is written down, one by one, but the author is now thinking of the scene as he takes his walk. And, when he returns, he is confronted by the same scene as he left.
God does not require time. Time does not affect God. God hears all and writes the next chapter according to his will. But imagine, for an instance, that the character talked to, you, the author. The character pleaded for you to finish his/her chapter in a certain fashion. Can you imagine the surprised look on your face? Would you feel a slight push to adhere to their pleas?
Do not forget. God is the only author that has the better mind to lead you down a path that ends your story in the right way. Just because your current chapter looks grim doesn't mean that it is not exactly what you need in the long run.
